Good job! I do have a suggestion though.. Instead of saying “It was passed on NYE..Everyone was drinking and no one was paying attention.” I’d say “You may not have heard about this because it was intentionally slipped under the radar and passed on New Year’s Eve..

Rather than telling people that “for the first time in history, it’s a law that allows the US military to arrest you……”, ask them how they would feel if their children (or their parents if the people look too young to have children of their own) were with them today and the military showed up and arrested them and took them off to jail today with any explanation. Then tell them recently a law was enacted which gave the US military authorization to do just that.
